The PRO of Prisons Service Vitalis Aryeh has revealed that late Christian Atsu paid the fines of 113 Prisoners for them to be freed.
According to him the former Chelsea Player’s magnanimity is one that would live with the service for a long time adding that Atsu was a humanitarian.
“ Atsu is gone. He was buried today but his legacy will live forever”, the PRO stressed.
Mr. Aryeh made the disclosure in an interview with Alfred Ocansey on TV3 on Friday.
He revealed further that Christian Atsu did not only pay the fines for the Prisoners to be freed but also ensured they are set up to start gainful venture.
“One particular prisoner that he [Atsu] freed, he bought him a drilling machine for him to start work with”, the PRO revealed.
Mr. Aryeh who said the Prison Service organized a football match in honor of the revered player also called on Ghanaians to emulate the good deeds of Atsu and extend support to the inmates.
